ewTWITCH: Thanks for a great week!

Here's what we got done today on stream! Thank you for all the great requests and support! We unlocked two giveaways and had a lot of fun! Today we announced the release of the digital edition of Volume 3 next week. As if to mark the occasion everyone has begun getting their books this week! Both international and domestic orders who just ordered Volume 3 have just about got them. Anything two or more books, such as the Drawesome bundle that featured all 3 books in one order, have not arrived yet. I believe its because they are larger boxes and are taking a little longer to get there then the single books in envelopes. So hopefully by next week everyone will be getting those.

Thank you for everything this week, and the kind words and the encouragement. We got a lot done. For the first time in a long time I'm feeling really confident about the progress on the Upgrades. See you guys Monday as we continue to knock out upgrades and whip out the drawing requests!

Today was a very productive day! I spent the morning taking care of in-house tasks and chipping away at the backlog. As of the 6 people ( with several orders each ) we had left from pre 2019 two are completely done. This afternoon on stream we worked on a slew of priority upgrade requests for recent orders! All were a blast in their own way and I had a lot of fun working on all this variety! We even broke it up with a mid-stream drawing request raffle. 

Also, I've gotten notifications from several people today that the book orders are starting to arrive! Thanks to everyone who pre ordered! The digital edition will go live end of the month and books are still available at their regular price in the ewSHOP!! But those who got the PreOrder, keep a look out! They're getting air dropped from the EWG Jet as we speak!!

So, for months I've not really been using my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, my first true drawing tablet for my art. Nor have I been using the Samsung Galaxy Book 12, my mobile work horse for unchaining me from my studio desk. Mainly this is because I have misplaced my Wacom Bamboo Smart stylus that I liked to draw with on both devices. I'll find it around the house somewhere eventually. Also the integrated Spen that came with the 10.1 was becoming unusable and showing its age or perhaps wearing out. I even recently played with cleaning its innards and putting a new tip on it and trying to get it working again. Its just made in a way where you cant get into it to replace anything and there's very little you can do once it starts getting unresponsive and "bad" for lack of a better way to describe it. 

So I took a chance after much research on a Galaxy Note 9 ( yep the phone Ninja promoted ) Spen. The cool yellow one with the clicky button on the end. They changed the thickness, probably for easier gripping, but its overall the exact same as any Spen before it. I'd say its an upgrade from the one the 10.1 came with as well. It feels more responsive, but like it has more pressure levels and even has intuitive tilt like any Wacom stylus device.

This pen has been great. It fit snugly into a bic ballpoint pen case, which I like putting my Spens inside for a couple reasons. This extends the length to a more natural size in the palm, it protects the buttons on the pen and finally makes it a more natural round grip for long drawing sessions.

It has gotten me back into drawing on my mobile devices, brought the 10.1 back to life and allowed me to get work done once again on the Galaxy book. I got the Galaxy book so I could get more work done and not necessarily be confined to my studio desk and its time to start paying for itself!

Anyways, I wanted to say, I can not recommend the Wacom technology based Samsung Spen technology enough. They give you a felt, soft plastic and hard plastic tip to choose from. It doesn't need charging ever. And you can even access additional features by clicking the button and bringing up Air Command on basically any samsung device. The Spen allows you to draw fine lines, pressure sensitive lines and even hold the pen sidewayz and sketch like you would with the side of a pencil or charcoal. 

Its brought life back to my mobile drawing, and most importantly, life back to my original ol' reliable 10.1. I'm particularly right now enjoying drawing with a brush in Autodesk sketchbook and then using the ballpoint pen to hatch in shading and texture rendering. There's something satisfying and therapeutic about shading that way and I will continue to play with that approach more. So you'll probably see more of that.

I noticed it really come alive when using Clip Studio Paint on the Galaxy Book, like it was made for it. I imagine any Adobe software that runs on Windows 10 would work great too.

So this is my overall follow up and review of my new Spen used on both an android Samsung 10.1 tablet and a Samsung Windows 10 PC Galaxy book 12 tablet.  Compare a refurbished any one of these, or even that new Tab4 S ( stands for Spen) and I believe its a better overall functionality and other value over any iPad and iPencil. Having said that, it's only how I feel and currently understand based on my internet observations and research. I have not actually used an iPad or iPencil. Though I can't imagine it'd much better.

Finally got a chance to watch the first episode of the new season of Aggretsuko. I was ear to ear smiling the whole time. Love that show, love that character. Love the tweaks they made to the season two intro and excited over all for more Retsuko action! Then I noticed on my morning backlog work I had an Aggretsuko fanart upgrade waiting to be finished. So that's what I'm working on this morning along with other upgrades. Look for the process video on the inks and colors of this piece on YouTube soon! But for now here's a peak at an Eryck Webb style Retsuko raging at her boss!

I learned from this, that searching for the Rage kanji on her forehead, its not a kanji for Rage. Its in fact a kanji for Retsu which means 'aggressive' or 'violent' etc. Cool beans.

Thank you for a thoroughly fun and interesting thursday stream! We colored a massive ring world illustration for Transparent, we investigated some technical tinkering with Fooray and drew a healthy handful of drawing requests! Everything from super heroes, emotional family scenes to dressing ladies ( oo la la ).

As announced earlier today in post form and on stream, all the Pre Orders of Best of Request Volume 3 are now in shipping mode. Kiwii finished getting all the international orders out and the U.S. orders are next and should go out over the weekend! I cant wait for everyone to finally have their books and to see/ hear what everyone thinks. I've been very tight lidded on the extra goodies and the sketches themselves. I encourage the CRew to feel free to share what draws you got. Its kind of like one of those mystery boxes. Only if you want to of course cause I understand the wanting to enjoy it for yourself notion.

See the CRew 1pm Eastern Time for Drawing Request Show! We'll be doing Drawing Requests only all day! A couple updates the CRew can expect starting today is:

1.) No Giveaway wheels - when we hit one of 3 main stream goals we'll unlock a Next Drawing Of the Stream giveaway giving a lucky winner immediate priority. 

2.) No cooldown removed for donation amounts anymore. This became a problem and is no longer applicable. Every dollar to support the stream and EWG is amazing, but if you choose to go above and beyond thank you very much! However we can no longer remove cooldowns or give special treatment. But feel free to add a few Quantums to the list! You can have another after a cool down of two other requests!

3.) Though Eryck prefers, one character per request, if you choose for 'all that you can fit into the time' allotted, Eryck will do his best. But from now on what does not fit will be left where it is. Of course Eryck reserves exceptions. Use a future request to add to your sketch. That's the best way.

4.) Once the book orders are processed and shipped, upgrades will resume in the A.M. before DRS, and will mostly be done offline except for the occasional morning stream. Thanks for your patience while Eryck and Kiwi get all the books to their happy owners!!

Thank you again for all the things you guys enable and make possible in our lives, and we'll continue to work hard to draw and stream the best that we can!

Thank you for a great day and week! We participated in Maddys 'Draw This In Your Style' with a cute nature goddess inspired by spring. We also inked a wicked headshot for coco and drew some requests that I feel leveled up my ink sketch style a couple notches. Very sorry the Twitch Chat broke right at the end, whispers too. Its global every stream I look at has the same problem. But stream was ending anyway. Thank you for everything! Thanks for coming out, watching, enjoying the stream and geeking out over the draws. Means a lot and keeps me encouraged to keep drawing and streaming! We'll get to every request eventually. We always do. [ Literally, 4 years in... no matter how long it gets we always get to the bottom over time... ALWAYS. ] I appreciate the patience, and the community spirit. Come out enjoy the stream first, don't stress about the wait or 'fate permitting' moments ... I am working hard, especially off stream, to get to everyone. If you are in a hurry, use Tokens, that's what they are for. Occasionally we have individuals who are working on a project, and need daily progress. And the way I always tell people who are in a hurry, is come out, put down tokens and get what you need.
